The Athens Electra
Palace is a five star property under the shadow of
the Acropolis, in the picturesque quarter of Plaka.
After an eighteen month period of complete re-construction
and refurbishment, the hotel reopened its doors.
The buildings facade has changed completely to a
new-classical style, impressively lightened at night
and together with the hotels interior exclusive style
with its wooden and antique furniture, creates a
unique feeling of class and luxury.
Accommodation
The existing
wing now operates with 95 guestrooms and 7 suites.
All rooms have air-conditioning, mini bar, electronic
safe box, direct dial phone in the bedroom and in
the bathroom, data port for internet connection,
satelite TV with pay-movie system, night light, emergency
light connected to a power generator, magnifying
mirrors in the bathroom and smoke detectors. The
superior rooms have balconies with Acropolis view
whilst the suites have Jaccuzi bathtubs and separate
showers. The decoration of all the guestrooms is
classic, in order to match with the classical facade
of the hotel and the character of the ancient distrivt
of Plaka.
Food & Beverage
The restaurant
operates temporarily on the 1st floor and serves
American buffet breakfast and a la carte lunch and
dinner. The bar is located on the lobby level, near
the lobby lounge. The hotels main restaurant will
operate on the lobby level of the new property, whilst
the main bar on the same level will serve inside
during winter and outside by the garden during summer.
Hotel Facilities
The Athens Electra
Palace offers a relaxing spa area on the first basement
of the old wing. The space includes an indoor heated
swimming pool, a Jaccuzi, a gym, a sauna, a steambath
and a massage room. Furthermore, the hotel offers
a new modern undrground garage, with approximately
120 parking spaces, laundry & valet service nad
room service an 24-hour basis. An outdoor swimming
pool will be located on the terrace of the new building,
near the roof garden restaurant. They will be open
in May 2004.
Meetings & Events
The hotel is
the ideal venue for a succesful social or business
event. At this stage, one naturally lit function
room with a hosting capacity of up to 100 people
in the theatre style, with state of the art audio-visual
equipment and experienced personel, is available
to satisfy the most demanding customer. An additional
meeting space with capacity for up to 300 people
is expected to operate by the end of 2003.

The hotel is
located 35 km away from the Eleftherios Venizelos
airport of Athens and 10 km away from the Pireus
Port.
